Hybrid between Cupressus macrocarpa and Chamaecyparis nootkaensis.
A compact, conical conifer with thick, regular branches from the ground, even on older trees.
It adapts to almost all soils, including the calcareous ones of southern Italy and southern France, provided it is grafted rather than cut (on Cupressus sempervirens, which, among other things, ensures better anchoring to the ground, an extremely important requirement in areas with strong winds).
It tolerates any pruning, even on very old trees, regenerating rapidly. Among the conifers suitable for hedges (no lower than 2 m) and barriers, it boasts the fastest growth and is the easiest to cultivate.
It is resistant to seawater and pollution.
