Also known as the Red Oak
It is a surprisingly fast-growing plant, considering it is an oak. Its large leaves (up to 20-25 cm long) differ greatly from those of European oaks, especially the lobes, which are flattened and serrated, not rounded. In summer, they are a beautiful dark green, but it is in autumn that they truly take centre stage with their scarlet hues. Also known as the "Autumn Architect," this species has been welcomed into European parks for its extraordinary ability to transform the landscape into an impressionist painting. When it arrives in October, it lights up the horizon with shades ranging from fiery red to intense rust. Thanks to its tolerance to air pollution and fine dust, the Red Oak is a silent guardian of air quality in our cities.
